DVD Image Signal Circuit between Radio Receiver and Navigation ECU: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Disconnect the F70 radio receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the F31 display and navigation module display connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F70-8 (NTSC) - F31-9 (VV+) Always Below 1 Ω
      F70-22 (GND) - F31-20 (VV-) Always Below 1 Ω
      F70-8 (NTSC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F70-22 (GND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F70-7 (SLD) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (DVD IMAGE SIGNAL) 
    1. Reconnect the F70 radio receiver assembly connector.

    2. Check the waveform according to the table below.
    3. Oscilloscope waveform

      Item Content
      Measurement terminal F70-8 (NTSC) - Body ground
      Measurement setting 200 mV/DIV., 10 μs/DIV.
      Condition DVD is played on multi-display

      HINT: 

      The video waveform changes according to the image output from the radio receiver assembly to the display and navigation module display, but the synchronization signal does not change.

    NG → See step   4 

    OK → See step   3 

  3. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
  4. REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
