Luggage Oscillator Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR) 
    1. Disconnect the E13 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the oscillator connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Inside Luggage Compartment 

      Outside Luggage Compartment 

      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      E13-16 (CG7B) - R2-3 (CLGB) Always Below 1 Ω
      E13-15 (CLG7) - R2-1 (CLG6) Always Below 1 Ω
      E13-16 (CG7B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E13-15 (CLG7) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      E13-32 (CG8B) - R3-2 (CLGB) Always Below 1 Ω
      E13-31 (CLG8) - R3-1 (CLG5) Always Below 1 Ω
      E13-32 (CG8B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E13-31 (CLG8) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK AND REPLACE ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR 
    1. Replace the electrical key oscillator.
    2. Check that the luggage compartment door entry LOCK/UNLOCK function operates normally.

      OK

      Luggage compartment door entry LOCK/UNLOCK function operates normally.

    OK → END (ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE) 

    NG: Go to next step 

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (CERTIFICATION ECU OUTPUT SIGNAL) 
    1. Reconnect the oscillator and the ECU connectors.
    2. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    4. Turn the tester on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical/Smart Access/Active Test.
    6. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the tester.
      SMART ACCESS:

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      In-Bdr Transmitter Luggage compartment door inner oscillator ON/OFF -
      Bdoor Transmitter Luggage compartment door outer oscillator ON/OFF -
    7. Measure the frequency according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard

      Inside Luggage Compartment 

      Outside Luggage Compartment 

      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      E13-16 (CG7B) - E13-15 (CLG7) During Active Test Frequency is generated (higher than 0 Hz)
      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      E13-32 (CG8B) - E13-31 (CLG8) During Active Test Frequency is generated (higher than 0 Hz)

    NG → REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
