Charging (Service Information): Generator: Removal: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1
  3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4
  4. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  5. REMOVE FAN & GENERATOR V BELT  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
  6. REMOVE VANE PUMP PULLEY

    1. Using SST, remove the nut and vane pump pulley.
      • SST: 09960-10010 
  7. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the generator connector.
    2. Remove the rubber cap and nut, and disconnect the generator wire.
    3. Remove the bolt and disconnect the engine wire bracket.

      NOTE:

      If the stud bolt of the nut is loose, replace the stud bolt.

    5. Remove the 2 nuts, bolt and generator.
