Reverse Shift-linked Function of Power Mirrors does not Operate: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if a CAN communication DTC is output. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC is output B

    B → See step   9 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK POWER MIRROR CONTROL FUNCTION (ELECTRICAL REMOTE CONTROL MIRROR FUNCTION) 
    1. Check the electrical remote control mirror function. Refer to OPERATION CHECK .

      OK

      Electrical remote control mirror function is normal.

    NG → See step   10 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check if the shift position indicator light in the combination meter assembly operates normally.

      OK

      Shift position indicator light indicates actual shift position correctly.

    NG → See step   11 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (MIRROR POSITION SENSOR) 
    1. Using the Techstream, read the Data List. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST .
      MIRROR L / MIRROR R

      ON

      Output voltage is as shown in table above.

      RESULT

      Driver side mirror does not operate normally A
      Driver side mirror operates normally B
      Passenger side mirror does not operate normally C
      Passenger side mirror operates normally D

    D → See step   13 

    C → See step   7 

    B → See step   12 

    A: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the outer mirror control ECU assembly LH with its connectors still connected. Refer to REMOVAL .

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z3-5 (LVC) - z3-14 (LE1) Engine switch on (IG) 4.7 to 5.3 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z3-14 (LE1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → See step   12 

    OK → See step   6 

  6. REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  7. CHECK OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the outer mirror control ECU assembly RH with its connectors still connected. Refer to REMOVAL .

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z2-5 (RVC) - z2-14 (RE1) Engine switch on (IG) 4.7 to 5.3 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z2-14 (RE1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → See step   13

  8. REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  9. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  10. GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  
  11. GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
  12. REPLACE OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  13. REPLACE OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL
