Fuel Pump: Disassembly: Disassembly

  1. REMOVE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the fuel sender gauge connector from the fuel suction plate.

    2. Press down on the sender gauge claw labeled A. Then slide the sender gauge upward.
      NOTE:

      Do not touch the sender plate's resistance plate area or the contact area.

  2. SEPARATE FUEL SUCTION PLATE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the fuel pump connector from the fuel suction plate.

      NOTE:
      • Do not damage the wire harness.
      • Do not separate the tube indicated in the illustration. Refer to PRECAUTION .
    2. Using needle nose pliers, remove the E-ring.

    3. Separate the fuel suction plate and remove the spring from the sub-tank.
  3. REMOVE FUEL FILTER 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the filter from the sub-tank.

  4. REMOVE JET PUMP 
    1. Using a screwdriver with the tip taped, detach the claw of the jet pump nozzle.

    2. Using a screwdriver with the tip taped, remove the jet pump from the sub-tank.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the jet pump.

  5. REMOVE FUEL PUMP HARNESS 
    1. Disconnect the fuel pump connector from the fuel pump then remove the fuel pump harness.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL SUCTION SUPPORT 
    1. Using a screwdriver with the tip taped, disengage the claw and remove the No. 1 fuel suction support.

  7. REMOVE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 5 claws on the filter and remove the fuel pump from the fuel filter.

    2. Remove the O-ring and spacer from the fuel pump.
