DTC B2602: Key Unlock Warning Switch Circuit Malfunction; DTC B2606: Key Code Confirm Signal Malfunction: Procedure

  1. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT 

    HINT: 

    The power tilt and power telescopic steering column system uses the CAN communication system, so check its diagnostic system before proceeding to troubleshooting.

    1. Check if DTC B2621 is output.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      B2621 is not output A
      B2621 is output B

      HINT: 

      • If DTC B2621 is output, perform troubleshooting for B2621 first.
      • DTC B2621 indicates a communication interruption for the power tilt and power telescopic steering column system.

    A: Go to next step 

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (COMMUNICATION STATE OF ENGINE SWITCH AND KEY CODE) 
    1. Use the Data List to check if the communication of the key code and the engine switch are functioning properly.
      TILT & TELESCOPIC

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      IG Switch (CAN) Communication state of engine switch/ON or OFF ON: Communication normal
      OFF: Communication interrupted
      -
      Key Code Confirm (CAN) Communication state of key code confirmation signal/ON or OFF ON: Communication normal
      OFF: Communication interrupted
      -

      OK

      "ON" is displayed.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. RECONFIRM DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

      OK

      DTC B2602 and/or B2606 is not output.

    NG → See step   7 

    OK → See step   4 

  4. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  5. REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT CODE. Refer to  DTC B2621: Communication Interruption  
  6. CHECK SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START (FOR START FUNCTION). Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  7. REPLACE MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL
