Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK BRAKE WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check that the brake warning light comes on when the parking brake is applied and goes off when it is released.

      OK: The brake warning light operates as specified above. 

    NG: GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM  (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION ASSEMBLY [MULTI-DISPLAY] - MAIN BODY ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the L59 display connector.
    2. Disconnect the L12 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L59-23 (PKB) - L12-13 (PKBO) Always Below 1 Ω
      L59-23 (PKB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  )
