Hydrocarbon ADSORBER Catalyst Actuator: Installation

CAUTION:
  • The procedures should be performed by at least 2 people.
  • Wear protective gloves when removing the exhaust pipe.

  • The exhaust pipe is extremely hot immediately after the engine has stopped.
  • Confirm that the exhaust pipe has cooled down before removing it.

HINT:

When viewed from the rear of the engine assembly, Bank 1 is on the left side and Bank 2 is on the right side.

  1. INSTALL AIR CONTROL SPRING 
    1. Install the spring LH and RH as shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL UPPER NO. 3 EXHAUST PIPE PROTECTOR 
    1. Install the protector LH and RH with the 6 nuts

      Torque: 5.2 N*m (53 kgf*cm, 46 in.*lbf)

    2. Connect the 2 vacuum hoses.
  3. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. INSTALL NO. 2 HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2)  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. INSTALL EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. CONNECT EXHAUST PIPE AIR HOSE  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSTALL FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE  (See INSTALLATION )
  9. INSTALL FRONT CENTER FLOOR COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR COVER RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  11. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR COVER LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  12. INSTALL REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  13. INSTALL REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  14. INSTALL NO. 5 ROCKER PANEL MOULDING PROTECTOR  (See INSTALLATION )
  15. INSTALL NO. 6 ROCKER PANEL MOULDING PROTECTOR  (See INSTALLATION )
  16. INSTALL NO. 1 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR  (See INSTALLATION )
