Mute Signal Circuit between Navigation Assembly and Multi-display Controller: Procedure

  1. CHECK MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      R32-6 (MUT5) - Body ground Turn power switch ON (ACC), audio system is playing → Changing modes Above 3.5 V → Below 1 V

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   3 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION ASSEMBLY - MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER) 
    1. Disconnect the L62 navigation connector.

    2. Disconnect the R32 controller connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L62-8 (MUTE) - R32-6 (MUT5) Always Below 1 Ω
      L62-8 (MUTE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   4 

  3. PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
  4. REPLACE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
