Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      STANDARD VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      R32-18 (MUT6) - Body ground Turn engine switch to ACC, audio system is playing → Changing modes Above 3.5 V → Below 1V

      NG: Go to step 2 

      OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE   ) 

  2. CHECK SATELLITE RADIO TUNER 
    1. Check if the satellite radio tuner is equipped on the vehicle.

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Result Proceed to
      w/ Satellite Radio Tuner A
      w/o Satellite Radio Tuner B

      B:  Go to step  6

      A: Go to Next Step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER - SATELLITE RADIO TUNER) 
    1. Disconnect the L53 receiver connector.
    2. Disconnect the R27 tuner connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L53-6 (MUTE) - R27-6 (MUTE) Always Below 1 Ω
      L53-6 (MUTE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SATELLITE RADIO TUNER - MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER) 
    1. Disconnect the R29 tuner connector.
    2. Disconnect the R32 controller connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R29-15 (MUT2) - R32-18 (MUT6) Always Below 1 Ω
      R32-18 (MUT6) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  5. CHECK SATELLITE RADIO TUNER (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the satellite radio tuner with a normal one and check if the same problem occurs again (see REMOVAL  ).

      OK: 

      Same problem does not occur. 

      NG:  Go to step  7

      OK: END (SATELLITE RADIO TUNER IS DEFECTIVE) 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER - MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER) 
    1. Disconnect the L53 receiver connector.
    2. Disconnect the R32 controller connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L53-6 (MUTE) - R32-18 (MUT6) Always Below 1 Ω
      L53-6 (MUTE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  7. CHECK MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER 
    1. Reconnect the R32 controller connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      STANDARD VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R32-18 (MUT6) - Body ground Audio system is playing Above 3.5 V

      NG: REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER (See  REMOVAL   ) 

      OK: REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL   )
