Terminals Of Ecu

  1. CHECK SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF ECU)

    1. Disconnect the X5 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
      TERMINAL DESCRIPTION

      Terminal No. (Symbols) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      X5-1 (B) - X5-2 (E) B - W-B +B power supply Always 11 to 14 V
      X5-5 (IG) - X5-2 (E) L - W-B Power supply Engine switch off Below 1 V
      X5-5 (IG) - X5-2 (E) L - W-B Power supply Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      X5-7 (OPN) - X5-2 (E) G - W-B Sliding roof motor open SLIDE OPEN switch OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      X5-7 (OPN) - X5-2 (E) G - W-B Sliding roof motor open SLIDE OPEN switch ON Below 1 Ω
      X5-9 (CLS) - X5-2 (E) Y - W-B Sliding roof motor close SLIDE CLOSE switch OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      X5-9 (CLS) - X5-2 (E) Y - W-B Sliding roof motor close SLIDE CLOSE switch ON Below 1 Ω
      X5-10 (UP) - X5-2 (E) R - W-B Sliding roof motor up TILT UP switch OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      X5-10 (UP) - X5-2 (E) R - W-B Sliding roof motor up TILT UP switch ON Below 1 Ω
      X5-8 (DWN) - X5-2 (E) B - W-B Sliding roof motor down TILT DOWN switch OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      X5-8 (DWN) - X5-2 (E) B - W-B Sliding roof motor down TILT DOWN switch ON Below 1 Ω
      X5-2 (E) - Body ground W-B - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the X5 ECU connector.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      X5-7 (OPN) - X5-2 (E) G - W-B Sliding roof motor open Engine switch on (IG), SLIDE OPEN switch OFF Below 1 V
      X5-7 (OPN) - X5-2 (E) G - W-B Sliding roof motor open Engine switch on (IG), SLIDE OPEN switch ON 11 to 14 V
      X5-9 (CLS) - X5-2 (E) Y - W-B Sliding roof motor close Engine switch on (IG), SLIDE CLOSE switch OFF Below 1 V
      X5-9 (CLS) - X5-2 (E) Y - W-B Sliding roof motor close Engine switch on (IG), SLIDE CLOSE switch ON 11 to 14 V
      X5-10 (UP) - X5-2 (E) R - W-B Sliding roof motor up Engine switch on (IG), TILT UP switch OFF Below 1 V
      X5-10 (UP) - X5-2 (E) R - W-B Sliding roof motor up Engine switch on (IG), TILT UP switch ON 11 to 14 V
      X5-8 (DWN) - X5-2 (E) B - W-B Sliding roof motor down Engine switch on (IG), TILT DOWN switch OFF Below 1 V
      X5-8 (DWN) - X5-2 (E) B - W-B Sliding roof motor down Engine switch on (IG), TILT DOWN switch ON 11 to 14 V

      If the result is not as specified, the ECU may have a malfunction.
