Front Shock Absorber: Reassembly
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- INSTALL FRONT COIL SPRING INSULATOR LOWER LH
- Install the front coil spring insulator lower to the front shock absorber so that both recessed parts are aligned.
- INSTALL FRONT COIL SPRING LH
- Using SST, compress the coil spring.
SST 09727-30021 (09727-00010,09727-00021, 09727-00031)
NOTE: Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage SST. - Install the coil spring so that the end comes to the stepped portion of the coil spring insulator lower.
- Using SST, compress the coil spring.
- INSTALL FRONT COIL SPRING INSULATOR UPPER LH
- Align the bolt of the front suspension support and the cutout of the front coil spring insulator, and install the front coil spring insulator on the front suspension support.
- Align the width across flat of the piston rod end and of the front suspension support to install the front shock absorber.
- INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
- Install the suspension support assembly with the insulator upper to the shock absorber.
- INSTALL FRONT SUPPORT TO FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER LH COLLAR
- Install the collar to the shock absorber.
- INSTALL FRONT SUPPORT TO FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER LH NUT
- Temporarily install a new lock nut to the front shock absorber.
- Adjust the front suspension support so that the bolts come to the positions as shown in the illustration, and remove SST from the front coil spring.NOTE:
- Do not use an impact wrench.
- Make sure that the width across flat on the piston rod end is located parallel to the shock absorber bush.
- Make sure of the direction of the front suspension support when removing SST.
- Install the front suspension support so that the paint marks face vehicle outside.
