Front Seat Assembly: Removal

CAUTION: Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat adjuster and seat cushion frame may injure your hands.

HINT:

Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
The procedure listed below are for the LH side.

REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH (See REMOVAL )
DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
1. Operate the power seat switch (slide switch) to move the seat to the foremost position.
2. Pull the seat belt anchor cover cap in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to remove it.

3. Remove the bolt and outer belt anchor.

4. for Front Passenger Side: Disconnect the connector.
REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH
1. Disable the AUTO TILT AWAY function by changing the customize parameter (see CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS ).
  NOTE: Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the AUTO TILT AWAY function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.
  
  HINT:
  
  Performing the above operation causes the AUTO TILT AWAY function to be disabled when the engine switch is turned off.

2. Turn the engine switch on(IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully retract and tilt up the steering column assembly.
3. Turn the engine switch off.
4. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 seat track covers.
  HINT:
  
  Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

5. Remove the 2 bolts.
6. Operate the power seat switch (slide switch) to move the seat to the rearmost position.

7. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 seat track covers.
  HINT:
  
  Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

8. Remove the 2 bolts.
9. Operate the power seat switch (slide switch) and move the seat to the center position, and operate the power seat switch (reclining switch) and move the seatback to the upright position.
  HINT:
  
  If removing the front seat cushion shield of a seat with cushion sliding, the procedure becomes easier to perform if the seat cushion is moved forward 10 mm (0.394 in.) or more from the rearmost position.

10. Operate the power seat switch (reclining switch) to the reclining side for approximately 3 seconds.
11. Disconnect the cable from the battery negative (-) terminal.
  CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  
  NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
12. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.

13. Disconnect the 4 connectors under the seat.
  NOTE: Make sure the center pillar does not contact the power seat switch knob.

14. Remove the front seat assembly as shown in the illustration.
  NOTE:
  - Make sure the center pillar does not contact the power seat switch knob.
  - Make sure the seatback does not contact the shift lever knob.
  - Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
  HINT:
  
  Remove the seat assembly through the door frame so that it passes under the steering wheel.
