Oil Pump: Disassembly: Disassembly

  1. REMOVE OIL PUMP O-RING 
    1. Remove the O-ring from the oil pump.

  2. SECURE OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY 
    1. Place the oil pump body on the torque converter clutch.

  3. REMOVE CLUTCH DRUM OIL SEAL RING 
    1. Remove the 4 oil seal rings.

  4. REMOVE STATOR SHAFT PISTON 
    1. Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, remove the 5 bolts, stator shaft spring sub-assembly and stator shaft piston.

    2. Remove the 2 O-rings from the stator shaft piston.
  5. REMOVE STATOR SHAFT CLUTCH DRUM THRUST WASHER 
    1. Remove the stator shaft clutch drum thrust washer.

  6. INSPECT STATOR SHAFT SPRING SUB-ASSEMBLY  See step  1
  7. REMOVE STATOR SHAFT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and stator shaft from the oil pump body.

  8. REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP BODY O-RING 
    1. Remove the oil pump body from the torque converter clutch.
    2. Remove the O-ring from the oil pump body.

  9. INSPECT STATOR SHAFT ASSEMBLY  See step  3
  10. INSPECT FRONT OIL PUMP BODY SUB-ASSEMBLY  See step  2
  11. INSPECT CLEARANCE OF OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY  See step  4
  12. REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP DRIVE GEAR 
    1. Remove the drive gear from the oil pump body.

  13. REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP DRIVEN GEAR 
    1. Remove the driven gear from the oil pump body.

  14. REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP OIL SEAL 
    1. Using a screwdriver, pry out the oil seal.

      NOTE:

      Do not damage the bushing or oil pump body.
