Seat Belt Control ECU Communication Stop Mode: Procedure

  1. CHECK OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Disconnect the seat belt control ECU connector (Q38).
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Value
      Q58-1 (CANH) - Q58-2 (CANL) Engine switch off 54 to 69 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (IG1, PGND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Value
      Q57-7 (PGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Value
      Q58-8 (IG1) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 10 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   3 

  3. REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL
