Display Signal Circuit between Multi-display and Television Camera Assembly: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-DISPLAY - TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the J51 connector from the multi-display.
    2. Disconnect the Q43 connector from the television camera assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester connection (Terminal No.) Condition Specified condition
      CB+ (Q43-4) - CA+ (J51-13) Always Below 1 Ω
      CGND (Q43-3) - CGND (J51-14) Always Below 1 Ω
      CV+ (Q43-2) - V+ (J51-27) Always Below 1 Ω
      CV- (Q43-1) - V- (J51-28) Always Below 1 Ω
      CB+ (Q43-4) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      CGND (Q43-3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      CV+ (Q43-2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      CV- (Q43-1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT MULTI-DISPLAY 
    1. Reconnect the multi-display J51 connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      CB+ (Q43-4) - CGND (Q43-3) Engine switch on (IG)
      Shift lever R position
      Approx. 6 V

    NG → REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY 
    1. Reconnect the multi-display J51 connector and the television camera assembly Q43 connector.

    2. Check the waveform of the television camera assembly using an oscilloscope.

      1. Measurement terminal: CV+ - CV-

        Measurement setting: 0.2 V/DIV, 0.2 μs/DIV

        Condition: Engine switch on (IG), Shift lever in R range

        OK

        Pulses as shown in the illustration.

    NG → REPLACE TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
