On-Vehicle Inspection

CHECK FRONT AXLE HUB BEARING
1. Remove the front wheel.
2. Remove the 2 bolts and front disc brake cylinder.
3. Support the brake cylinder securely.
4. Remove the front brake disc.
5. Using a dial indicator near the center of the axle hub, check the backlash in the bearing shaft direction.
  Maximum backlash:
  
  0.05 mm (0.0020 in.)
  
  If the backlash is greater than the maximum, replace the bearing.
6. Using a dial indicator, check the deviation at the surface of the axle hub outside the hub bolt.
  Maximum deviation:
  
  0.05 mm (0.0020 in.)
  
  If the deviation is greater than the maximum, replace the axle hub.
