Inspection Procedure

1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSFER SHIFT ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY BODY GROUND) 
   1. Disconnect the C44 transfer shift actuator assembly connector.
   2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance 

   STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION
   
   

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   C44-3 (N) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   NG:  Go to step  2

   OK: GO TO TRANSFER SYSTEM INSPECTION  (See INSPECTION )

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FOUR WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND) 
   1. Disconnect the A27 four wheel drive control ECU connector.
   2. Disconnect the C44 transfer shift actuator assembly connector.
   3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance 

   STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION
   
   

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   A27-16 (NP) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   NG:  Go to step  3

   OK: GO TO TRANSFER SYSTEM INSPECTION  (See INSPECTION )

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSFER SHIFT ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY, FOUR WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU - ECM) 
   1. Disconnect the A38 ECM connector.
   2. Disconnect the C44 transfer shift actuator assembly connector.
   3. Disconnect the A27 four wheel drive control ECU connector.
   4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

OK: REPLACE ECM  (See ECM )
