Engine Oil Cooler: Installation

  1. INSTALL OIL COOLER SPACER 
    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new gasket.
    2. Install the gasket to the oil cooler spacer.

    3. Install the oil cooler spacer to the oil filter bracket with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

  2. INSTALL OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to 2 new O-rings.
    2. Install the 2 O-rings to the oil cooler.

    3. Install the oil cooler with the 5 nuts.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

  3. INSTALL OIL FILTER BRACKET 
    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to 2 new O-rings.
    2. Install the 2 O-rings to the timing chain cover.

    3. Install the oil filter bracket with the 2 nuts and 2 bolts.

      Torque: 35 N*m (357 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf)

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 OIL COOLER BRACKET 
    1. Connect the ground wire to the cylinder block.
    2. Install the oil cooler bracket with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

  5. INSTALL NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the 4 hoses.
    2. Install the water by-pass hose with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

  6. CONNECT COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION  )
  7. INSTALL OIL PRESSURE SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION  )
  8. INSTALL OIL FILTER ELEMENT  (See REPLACEMENT  )
  9. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  11. ADD ENGINE OIL  (See REPLACEMENT  )
  12. ADD ENGINE COOLANT  (See REPLACEMENT )
  13. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
  14. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK  (See REPLACEMENT  )
  15. INSPECT ENGINE OIL LEVEL  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
  16. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK  (See COOLING SYSTEM )
  17. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  18. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  19. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  20. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL  (See INSTALLATION )
  21. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  22. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  (See INSTALLATION )
