Front Seat Assembly: Disassembly

CAUTION: Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.

HINT:

  1. REMOVE SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB 
    1. Apply protective tape around the cushion shield.
    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the knob.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  2. REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB 
    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the knob.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH 
    1. Remove the 2 rubber bands from the hooks.

    2. Disconnect the interior illumination light connector.

    3. Remove the 2 screws.

    4. Remove the 3 screws.
    5. Detach the 2 claws and remove the cushion shield.

    6. for Driver Side:
      1. Detach the 2 wire harness clamps
      2. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
    7. for Front Passenger Side:

      Disconnect the connector.

  4. REMOVE FRONT INNER NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH (for Driver Side) 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.
    2. Detach the claw and guide, and then remove the cushion shield.

  5. REMOVE FRONT INNER NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION SHIELD RH (for Front Passenger Side) 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Detach the claw and remove the cushion shield.

  6. REMOVE LUMBAR SWITCH 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and switch.

  7. REMOVE SEAT VARIABLE CUSHION SWITCH (for Driver Side) 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and switch.

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )
  9. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Detach the 2 claws and clip, and then remove the cushion shield.

  10. REMOVE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH 
    1. for Driver Side:

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. for Front Passenger Side:

      Disconnect the connector.

    3. Remove the 3 screws and switch.

  11. REMOVE SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD 
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips

    2. w/o Climate Control Seat System.
      1. Disconnect the seat heater connector and detach the 2 wire harness clamps.

      2. Disconnect the seat heater control connector and detach the wire harness clamp.

    3. w/ Climate Control Seat System:
      1. Disconnect the seat heater connector and detach the 3 wire harness clamps.

      2. Disconnect the control connector.
      3. Detach the claw and remove the connector.
      4. Detach the wire harness clamp.

    5. for Driver Side:
      1. Detach the hooks.

      3. Remove the hog rings and seat cushion cover with pad.

    6. for Front Passenger Side:
      1. Bend the 2 seat frame claws upward.
      2. Detach the hooks and remove the seat cushion cover with pad.
  12. REMOVE FRONT SEPARATE TYPE SEAT CUSHION COVER 
    NOTE:
    • As the front passenger side seat has an occupant classification system, its front seat cushion cannot be disassembled.
    • If replacing the front passenger side seat, replace the No. 1 seat cushion assembly (cushion set, occupant detection sensor, occupant classification ECU and 2 nuts).
    • When the No. 1 seat cushion assembly (cushion set, occupant detection sensor, occupant classification ECU and 2 nuts) is replaced, the previous ECU data must be saved in the Techstream and loaded into the new ECU (See REGISTRATION ).
    • After replacing the No. 1 seat cushion assembly (cushion set, occupant detection sensor, occupant classification ECU and 2 nuts), if there is a malfunction in the occupant classification system, perform zero point calibration and the sensitivity check (See INITIALIZATION ).

    1. Remove the hog rings and front seat cushion cover.
  13. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY LH 
    NOTE:
    • As the front passenger side seat has an occupant classification system, its front seat cushion cannot be disassembled.
    • If replacing the front passenger side seat, replace the No. 1 seat cushion assembly (cushion set, occupant detection sensor, occupant classification ECU and 2 nuts).
    • When the No. 1 seat cushion assembly (cushion set, occupant detection sensor, occupant classification ECU and 2 nuts) is replaced, the previous ECU data must be saved in the Techstream and loaded into the new ECU (See REGISTRATION ).
    • After replacing the No. 1 seat cushion assembly (cushion set, occupant detection sensor, occupant classification ECU and 2 nuts), if there is a malfunction in the occupant classification system, perform zero point calibration and the sensitivity check (See INITIALIZATION ).

    1. Cut off the tack pins which fasten the seat heater to the seat cushion cover, and then remove the seat cushion heater from the seat cushion cover.

  14. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.
    2. Move the seatback board in the direction of the arrow to detach the 2 hooks and remove the seatback board.

  15. REMOVE NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY  (See INSPECTION )
  16. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT 
    1. Detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 headrest supports.

  17. REMOVE SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD 
    1. w/ Climate Control Seat System:

      Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the duct.

    2. Remove the 3 hog rings and detach the 9 hooks.

    3. Remove the nut and seatback cover bracket from the seat frame.
    4. Remove the seatback cover with pad.

  18. REMOVE FRONT SEPARATE TYPE SEATBACK COVER 
    1. Disconnect the seatback cover bracket from the seatback pad.

    3. Remove the hog rings and seatback cover

  19. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK HEATER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Cut off the tack pins which fasten the seatback heater to the seatback cover, and then remove the seatback heater from the seatback cover.

  20. REMOVE INSIDE RECLINING ADJUSTER COVER LH 
    1. Detach the wire harness clamp.
    2. Remove the 2 screws.
    3. Detach the claw and remove the reclining adjuster cover.

  21. REMOVE INSIDE RECLINING ADJUSTER COVER RH 
    1. Detach the wire harness clamp.
    2. Remove the 2 screws.
    3. Detach the claw and remove the reclining adjuster cover.
  22. REMOVE OUTSIDE RECLINING ADJUSTER COVER LH 
    1. Remove the screw and detach the claw, and then remove the reclining adjuster cover.

  23. REMOVE OUTSIDE RECLINING ADJUSTER COVER RH 
    1. Remove the screw and detach the claw, and then remove the reclining adjuster cover.

  24. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER (w/ Climate Control Seat System) 
    1. Remove the clamp.
    2. Disconnect the connector.
    3. Detach the connector clamp.

    4. Detach the 2 hooks on the top of the controller. Then, while lifting the controller in the direction of the arrow, detach the 2 hooks on the bottom and remove the controller.

  25. REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 4 springs.
    2. Detach the 4 hooks and remove the seatback spring.

    3. Disconnect the lumbar support adjuster connector.
    4. Remove the 2 screws and lumbar support adjuster.

    5. Detach the 3 claws and remove the bush from the seat frame.

  26. REMOVE UPPER ACTIVE HEADREST UNIT 
    1. Remove the nut and cable clamp to remove the upper active headrest unit from the lower active headrest unit.

    2. Remove the 4 nuts and upper active headrest unit.

    1. Remove the 2 nuts and lower active headrest unit.

  28. REMOVE FRONT LOWER SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Detach the hook and remove the lower seat cushion shield.

  30. REMOVE SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the seat heater control connector and detach the clamp.
    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the seat heater control.

  31. REMOVE OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR (for Front Passenger Side)  (See REMOVAL )
  32. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (for Front Passenger Side)  (See REMOVAL )
  33. REMOVE SEAT POSITION SENSOR  (See INSTALLATION )
  34. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU (w/ Climate Control Seat System) 
    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts and ECU

  35. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER LH (w/ Climate Control Seat System) 
    1. Detach the 4 claws and disconnect the duct.

    2. Detach the 2 clamps.
    3. Disconnect the connector.

    4. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and blower.

  36. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR FILTER (w/ Climate Control Seat System) 
    1. Rotate the filter counterclockwise to detach the claws, and then remove it.

  37. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER LH (w/ Climate Control Seat System) 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Detach the clamp and 2 claws, and then move the wire harness in the direction of the arrow.

    3. Remove the 2 screws.

    4. Detach the 4 claws and remove the bracket.

    5. Detach the 2 wire harness clamps and disconnect the connector.
    6. Remove the controller.
