Inspection Procedure

NOTE: When using the Techstream with the engine switch off to troubleshoot:
Connect the Techstream to the vehicle, and turn a courtesy switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the Techstream and vehicle begins.

HINT:

When DTC B2287 and B2785 are output simultaneously, perform the troubleshooting for DTC B2785 first (See DTC B2785 COMMUNICATION MALFUNCTION BETWEEN ECUs CONNECTED BY LIN ).

CLEAR DTC
1. Clear the DTC (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).

CHECK FOR DTC

Recheck for DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - MAIN BODY ECU)

Disconnect the E29 and 2D ECU connectors.
Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value (s) in the tables below.

Standard Resistance

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK: Go to next Step

CHECK MAIN BODY ECU (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH)
1. Temporarily replace the main body ECU (cowl side junction block LH) with a new or normally functioning one.
2. Clear the DTC (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).

CHECK FOR DTC

Recheck for DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
