Inspection Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE ANCHOR SWITCH RH) 
    1. Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the height adjustable anchor switch
      1. Intelligent tester

        P-DOOR:

        DIAGNOSTIC NOTE NORMAL CONDITION CHART

        Tester Display Measurement Item / Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
        SEAT BELT ANCHOR UP Height adjustable anchor up switch RH / OFF or ON ON Up switch is pressed
        OFF Up switch is not pressed
        -
        SEAT BELT ANCHOR DOWN Height adjustable anchor down switch RH / OFF or ON ON Down switch is pressed
        OFF Down switch is not pressed
        -
      2. Techstream Passenger door:

      Passenger door:

      DIAGNOSTIC NOTE NORMAL CONDITION CHART

      Tester Display Measurement Item / Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Anchor SW UP Height adjustable anchor up switch RH / OFF or ON ON Up switch is pressed
      OFF Up switch is not pressed
      -
      Anchor SW DOWN Height adjustable anchor down switch RH / OFF or ON ON Down switch is pressed
      OFF Down switch is not pressed
      -

      OK: On tester screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart. 

      NG:  Go to step  4

      OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR RH 
    1. Remove the belt anchor (see REMOVAL )

    3. Apply battery voltage to the shoulder belt anchor and check the operation of the shoulder belt anchor.

    OK

    MEASUREMENT SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

    Measurement Condition Specified Condition
    Battery positive (+) → Terminal 3
    Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4
    Motor moves downward
    Battery positive (+) → Terminal 4
    Battery negative (-) → Terminal 3
    Motor moves upward

    NG: REPLACE SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR RH  (see REMOVAL )

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the R8 anchor connector.

    3. Disconnect the S62 ECU connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

    Standard resistance

    TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    R8-4-S62-10 (PBM+) Always Below 1 Ω
    R8-3 - S62-8 (PBM-)
    R8-4 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    R8-3 - Body ground

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) 

  4. INSPECT HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE ANCHOR SWITCH RH 
    1. Remove the anchor switch (see REMOVAL )

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below

    Standard resistance

    TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    P1-2 (UP) - P1-3 (UL) Not operated 10 kΩ or higher
    P1-4 (DW) - P1-3 (UL) Not operated 10 kΩ or higher
    P1-2 (UP) - P1-3 (UL) Operated to UP side Below 1 Ω
    P1-4 (DW) - P1-3 (UL) Operated to UP side 10 kΩ or higher
    P1-2 (UP) - P1-3 (UL) Operated to DOWN side 10 kΩ or higher
    P1-4 (DW) - P1-3 (UL) Operated to DOWN side Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE ANCHOR SWITCH RH  (see REMOVAL )

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE ANCHOR SWITCH FRONT DOOR ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the P1 switch connector

    3. Disconnect the P4 ECU connector
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

    Standard resistance

    TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    P1-2 (UP) - P4-18 (PSUP) Always Below 1 Ω
    P1-3 (UL) - P4-28 (PSE)
    P1-4 (DW) - P4-17 (PSDN)
    P1-2 (UP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    P1-3 (UL) - Body ground
    P1-4 (DW) - Body ground

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE FRONT DOOR ECU RH  (See REMOVAL )
