On-Vehicle Inspection
- CHECK OIL QUALITY
- Check the oil for deterioration, water contamination, discoloring or thinning
If the quality is visibly poor, replace the oil and filter (see REPLACEMENT )

- CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL
- Warm up the engine, stop the engine and wait 5 minutes. The oil level should be between the dipstick's low level mark and full level mark If low, check for leakage and add oil up to the full level markNOTE: Do not fill engine oil above the full level mark.

- CHECK ENGINE OIL PRESSURE
- Put the engine in inspection mode (see INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE )
- Remove the No. 1 engine under cover (See REMOVAL ).
- Remove the engine oil pressure switch (see REMOVAL )
- Install an oil pressure gauge with an adapter
- Warm up the engine.
- Measure the engine oil pressure

STANDARD OIL PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONCondition Specified Condition Idle 70 kPa (0.7 kgf/cm2 , 10.1 psi) or higher 2500 rpm 220 kPa (2.2 kgf/cm2 , 32 psi) or higher If the pressure is not as specified, check the oil pump
- Remove the oil pressure gauge and adapter
- Install the engine oil pressure switch (see INSTALLATION )
- Install the No 1 engine under cover (see INSTALLATION )
