Instrument Panel Safety Pad: Installation

HINT:

A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (see SPECIFIED TORQUE FOR STANDARD BOLTS )

  1. INSTALL NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY 
    1. Attach the 5 claws to install the 5 stays.

  2. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the 5 claws to install the safety pad.
    2. Install the 5 bolts and nut
    3. Install the 2 passenger airbag bolts.

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

    4. Connect the connectors and clamps.
    5. Attach the 2 claws to install the sensor

  3. INSTALL FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. INSTALL NO. 1 SPEAKER HOLE COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  9. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector
    2. Hold the bottom with your left hand and side with your right hand Then insert the register into the instrument panel opening
      NOTE: Do not let the claws on the sides of the register contact the instrument panel surface.

      HINT.

      Insert the bottom of the register first.

    3. Press in the 4 claws simultaneously to install the register
  10. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector
    2. Hold the bottom with your right hand and side with your left hand Then insert the register into the instrument panel opening
      NOTE: Do not let the claws on the sides of the register contact the instrument panel surface.

      HINT

      Insert the bottom of the register first.

    3. Press in the 4 claws simultaneously to install the register.

  14. INSTALL DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (for HDD)  (See INSTALLATION )
  15. INSTALL RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET  (See INSTALLATION )
  16. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector and clamp, and install the compartment door
    2. Install the 5 screws

    1. Attach the 5 clips to install the moulding

    1. Connect the connector
    2. Attach the 4 claws to install the under cover

  21. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH 
    1. Attach the 6 clips to install the side panel.

  22. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  23. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connectors and clamp
    2. Attach the 2 claws
    3. Install the under cover with the 2 screws.

  24. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Install the combination meter with the 4 screws

  25. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Hold the back of the finish panel trip switch with your right hand, and connect the connector with your left hand.

    2. Hold the back of the finish panel light control rheostat with your right hand, and connect the connector with your left hand.

    3. Insert the top of the finish panel into the instrument panel opening, and hold the top center with your left hand.

    4. Press up the lower right side of the finish panel to attach the clip.
      NOTE: If the trip switch is pressed to attach the clip, the switch will be damaged.

    5. Press up the lower left side of the finish panel to attach the clip.
      NOTE: If the light control rheostat switch is pressed to attach the clip, the switch will be damaged.

    6. Install the 2 clips.

  26. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connectors.
    2. Attach the 5 clips and claw to install the safety pad.
    3. Install the 2 screws.

    4. Attach the claw to install the cover.

    1. Attach the 2 clips to install the moulding

  37. INSTALL LOWER CONSOLE COVER 
    1. Install the cover.
  38. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE END PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Attach the 5 clips and 2 claws to install the end panel.

  39. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Attach the 2 clips to install the panel.

  40. INSTALL REAR UPPER CONSOLE PANEL 
    1. Connect the connectors.
    2. Attach the 6 clips.
    3. Install the panel with the 2 screws.

  41. INSTALL NO. 3 BOX PANEL 
    1. Attach the 4 claws to install the box panel.

  42. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the shift lever knob and twist it in the direction indicated by the arrow.

    1. Attach the 8 clips and claw to install the finish panel end

  45. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:
    • Reset the AUTO TILT AWAY function setting to the previous condition by changing the customize parameter (see CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS ).
    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (see INITIALIZATION ).
  46. INSTALL BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  47. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  48. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the SRS warning light (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).
