Inspection Procedure

Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  .

If the multiplex communication system is operating normally, proceed to the next step.

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
5. Check the operation.

   Combination Meter: 

   DIAGNOSTIC NOTE

   Indicat. AFS	AFS OFF indicator light	ON / OFF	-

   OK: 

   AFS OFF indicator comes on. 

NG: COMBINATION METER SYSTEM

OK: Go to Next Step 

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Turn the clearance sonar main switch on.
5. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / AFS / Data List.
6. Read the display on the Techstream.

   AFS (AFS ECU): 

   DIAGNOSTIC NOTE

   OK: 

   Normal conditions listed above are displayed. 

OK: REPLACE AFS ECU 

NG: Go to Next Step 

1. Check the operation speed of the satellite switch and the tach indicator system.

   OK: 

   Tach indicator system operates normally. 

NG: COMBINATION METER SYSTEM

OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
