Camshaft Timing Control Motor: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.
    NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION )
  2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  6. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  9. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL MOTOR RH 
    1. Disconnect the 2 camshaft timing control motor connectors and 2 clamps.

    2. Remove the bolt and engine wire bracket.

    3. Remove the 3 bolts and camshaft timing control motor.
    4. Remove the O-ring from the timing chain cover.

  10. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL MOTOR LH 
    1. Disconnect the 2 camshaft timing control motor connectors and 2 engine wire clamps.

    2. Remove the bolt and engine wire bracket.

    3. Remove the 3 bolts and camshaft timing control motor.
    4. Remove the O-ring from the timing chain cover.
