System Description

  1. POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION 
    1. The power door lock system locks / unlocks all doors.
      • The door control switch of the multiplex network master switch and the driver door key cylinder use the BEAN line to send lock / unlock request signals through the multiplex network master switch to the main body ECU RH.
      • The door control switch on the passenger door uses the BEAN line to send lock / unlock request signals through the front multiplex network door ECU RH to the main body ECU RH.
      • Upon receiving request signals, the main body ECU RH sends these signals to the door ECUs on each door using the BEAN. The door ECUs then lock / unlock each door.
  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT

    Multiplex network master switch Door control switch on multiplex network master switch locks / unlocks all doors
    Door control switch Locks / unlocks all doors
    Door courtesy light switch
    • Turns on when door is open and off when door is closed.
    • Outputs door status (open or closed) to main body ECU RH.
    Front door lock LH
    • Built-in motor locks / unlocks door
    • Built-in door control switch position (key-linked) detects door key cylinder (lock or unlock) and outputs data to front multiplex network door ECU LH
    • Built-in position switch detects door status (locked or unlocked) and outputs data to front multiplex network door ECU LH. This switch turns off when door is locked and on when door is unlocked.

    • Built-in motor locks / unlocks door
    • Built-in position switch detects door status (locked or unlocked) and outputs data to door ECU. This switch turns off when door is locked and on when door is unlocked.
    Front multiplex network door ECU LH

    Rear multiplex network door ECU LH
    Rear multiplex network door ECU RH
    Receives lock / unlock request signal from multiplex network body ECU and locks / unlocks door
  3. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION 

    The door control system has the following functions:

    FUNCTION CHART

    Function Outline
    Manual lock and unlock function Locks / unlocks all doors by door control switch's lock operation (manual operation)
    Key-linked lock and unlock function
    • Linked with door key cylinder
    • Locks / unlocks all doors when lock/unlock operation is possible
    Key lock-in prevention function When door control transmitter is in vehicle, performing door lock operation with lock switch on outside handle will not lock door and will sound a buzzer
    Collision door lock release If SRS has been deployed and main body ECU RH has detected signal that is output from airbag sensor, main body ECU RH will unlock all doors
    2-step unlock function Unlocks only driver side door by turning key cylinder once and unlocks other doors by turning it twice
    Shift-linked automatic door lock When conditions listed below are all met, this function causes all doors to automatically lock
    • Power switch ON (IG)
    • All doors are closed
    • Shift lever is moved out of P
    • Doors are unlocked
    Shift-linked automatic door unlock When conditions listed below are all met, this function causes all doors to automatically unlock
    • Power switch ON (IG)
    • Doors are locked
    • Shift lever is moved to P
    Speed-sensitive automatic door lock When conditions listed below are all met, this function causes all doors to automatically lock
    • Vehicle speed is higher than approximately 20 km/h (13 mph).
    • All doors are closed
    • Shift lever is out of P and N
    • Any one of the doors are unlocked
    Power switch-linked automatic door unlock When the driver's door is closed, by turning the power switch OFF from ON within 10 seconds, all the doors will be automatically unlocked
