Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE SIGNAL (DISPLAY CHECK MODE) 
    1. Enter the "Display Check" mode (Vehicle Signal Check Mode) (See DISPLAY CHECK MODE  ).
    2. Check that the display changes between ON and OFF according to the shift lever operation (P and R).

      OK

      HINT:

      This display is updated once per seconds. As a result, it is normal for the display to lag behind the actual change in the switch.

    NG :  Go to step  4

    OK : Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION ECU - MULTI-DISPLAY) 
    1. Disconnect multi-display connector.

    2. Disconnect navigation ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      h1-15 (REV) - z17-20 (REV) Always Below 1 Ω
      h1-15 (REV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK : Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT MULTI-DISPLAY 
    1. Reconnect the multi-display connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z17-20 (REV) - Body ground Engine switch is on (IG).
      Shift lever Is moved to Reverse position.
      10 to 14 V
      z17-20 (REV) - Body ground Engine switch is on (IG).
      Shift lever is moved to any position except Reverse.
      Below 1 V

    NG : REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY

    OK : REPLACE NAVIGATION ECU 

  4. CHECK MAIN BODY ECU LH 
    1. Measure the voltage of the junction block.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Shift Lever Position Specified Condition
      V2-2 (BACK) - Body ground R 10 to 14 V
      V2-2 (BACK) - Body ground Not R Below 1 V

    NG : REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU LH

    OK : Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-DISPLAY - MAIN BODY ECU LH) 
    1. Disconnect the L97 display connector.
    2. Disconnect the W2 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K46-13 (REV) - V2-2 (BACK) Always Below 1 Ω
      K46-13 (REV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK : REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY
