Exhaust Pipe: Removal
CAUTION:
- Wear protective gloves when removing the exhaust Pipe.
- The exhaust pipe is extremely hot immediately after the engine has stopped.
- Confirm that the exhaust pipe has cooled down before removing it.
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
- REMOVE NO. 2 HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1)
- Remove the 5 bolts and engine under cover.
- Remove the sensor.
- REMOVE NO. 2 HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2)
- Remove the sensor.
- REMOVE TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 4 nuts, 4 bolts, 4 rings, tailpipe and 2 gaskets.
- Remove the 2 bolts and 2 baffles from the tailpipe.
- REMOVE FRONT FLOOR BRACE CENTER
- Remove the 4 bolts and floor brace.
- REMOVE EXHAUST CENTER PIPE ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 2 nuts, 2 bolts, 2 rings, exhaust pipe and gasket.
- REMOVE EXHAUST FRONT PIPE ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 4 nuts, 4 bolts, exhaust pipe and 2 gaskets.
- REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 2 bolts and bracket.
- REMOVE CATALYST CONVERTER ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 6 nuts, 2 converters and 2 gaskets.
