Inspection Procedure

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER (SPEEDOMETER)

Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to generate a control command, and then check that the speedometer operates.

It is normal that doors will be locked automatically when performing speedometer Active Test. The displayed value has same units (km/h, mph) as main scale of vehicle's speedometer. Needle position should be within acceptable tolerance.

OK:

The speedometer operates normally.

NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

OK: Go to next step

READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (SPEEDOMETER)

Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the speedometer.

OK:

NG: GO TO ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM

OK: Go to next step

CHECK COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

Disconnect the C8 meter connector.

Measure the voltage of the connector.

Standard voltage

OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

NG: Go to next step

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - METER)

Disconnect the S6 ECU connector.

Disconnect the C8 meter connector.

Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
