Instrument Panel Safety Pad: Disassembly

  1. REMOVE AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the sensor.
      NOTE: Do not pry the cooler thermistor off from the upper position.

  2. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts, 2 bolts and steering column.
  3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PLATE 
  4. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL PIN 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and 3 instrument panel pins.
  5. REMOVE NO. 1 DEFROSTER NOZZLE GARNISH 
    1. Detach the 12 claws and remove the nozzle garnish.
  6. REMOVE SIDE NO. 1 DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and nozzle duct.

  7. REMOVE SIDE NO. 2 DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and nozzle duct.
  8. REMOVE FRONT DEFROSTER NOZZLE 
    1. Remove the 4 screws and nozzle.
  9. REMOVE NO. 1 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT 
    1. Remove the clip, 2 screws and duct.
  10. REMOVE NO. 3 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and duct.
  11. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and duct.
  12. DISCONNECT PASSENGER AIRBAG CONNECTOR 
  13. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT 
    1. Disconnect all connectors.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts, screw and reinforcement with wire harness.
  14. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and register.
  15. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and register.
  16. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK STRIKER PLATE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 screws and striker plate.
  17. REMOVE NAVIGATION ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (w/ LEXUS Navigation System) 
  18. REMOVE CENTER JUNCTION BLOCK 
  19. REMOVE NETWORK GATEWAY ECU 
  20. REMOVE LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT 
  21. REMOVE NO. 1 METER HOOD RETAINER 
    1. Remove the screw and retainer.
  22. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
