Rear Axle Hub Bolt: Replacement
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (see SPECIFIED TORQUE FOR STANDARD BOLTS ).
- REMOVE REAR WHEEL
- REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH
- Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the brake cylinder from the axle carrier.
- Support the brake caliper securely.
- REMOVE REAR BRAKE DISC
- REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB BOLT LH
- Temporarily install 2 nuts to the hub bolts as shown in the illustration.
- Using SST and a screwdriver or equivalent to hold the axle shaft, remove the hub bolt.
SST 09628-10011
- INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB BOLT LH
- Install a washer and nut to a new hub bolt, as shown in the illustration.
- Using a screwdriver or equivalent to hold the axle shaft, install the hub bolt by torquing the nut.
- Remove the 2 nuts temporarily installed above.
- INSTALL REAR BRAKE DISC
- CONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH
- Connect the brake cylinder to the axle carrier with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 104 N*m (1,061 kgf*cm, 77 ft.*lbf)
- Connect the brake cylinder to the axle carrier with the 2 bolts.
- INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf)
- INSPECT AND ADJUST PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
- Inspect and adjust the parking brake pedal travel (see PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM ).
