Roof Panel Link: Installation

  1. INSTALL SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH 
    1. Install the limit switch with the 2 screws.

      HINT:

      Install the white tape side of the limit switch (with wire harness) so that it is inside the vehicle.

  2. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Install the drive gear with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 19 N*m (194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf)

  3. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN ROOF PANEL LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Temporarily install the shims and roof panel link with the 2 screws and nut.

      HINT:

      • Use the shims stored during removal.
      • The number of shims is changeable depending on the situation.
    2. Connect the connector.

  4. INSTALL REAR ROOF SIDE RAIL GARNISH RH 
    1. Connect the cable and tighten the nut.

      Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf) 

    2. Attach the claw and install the garnish with the 3 screws.
  5. INSTALL BACK WINDOW FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY UPPER (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  6. INSTALL REAR ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  7. INSTALL ROOF SIDE GARNISH INNER RH (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  8. INSTALL ROOF SIDE GARNISH INNER LH (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  9. INSTALL REMOVABLE ROOF PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  10. INSTALL REMOVABLE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  11. INSTALL ROOF SIDE RAIL GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  12. INSTALL ROOF SIDE RAIL GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  13. ADJUST ROOF LINE 
    NOTE: In order to prevent the roofs rear side from rising when driving at a high speed, adjustment of the roof panel link sub-assembly adjusting screw is necessary. Be sure to perform the following adjustment procedure.
    1. Using a T40 "TORX" driver, remove the stopper cushion from the roof panel link.
    2. Using a hexagon wrench, loosen the screw. Adjust the protrusion of the roof panel link adjusting screw (labeled A).

      Protrusion: 

      8 mm (0.31 in.)

    3. Close the roof by its own weight several times from the half open position.

    4. Close the roof by its own weight from the half open position and place SST without locking the roof.

      SST 09802-00010 

      HINT:

      • Place SST so that it does not contact with the roof panel.
      • Place SST in alignment with line A, which is between the body panel and quarter window molding.

    5. Check that line B on the upper part of SST aligns with the roof line.

      HINT:

      • When the roof line is not aligned with SST line B in the longitudinal direction, adjust the roof panel link sub-assembly forward or backward to align the roof line with SST reference line.
      • When the roof line is not aligned with SST reference dot line B in the vertical direction, adjust either by turning the adjusting screw or with roof panel link sub-assembly shims. After adjustment, close the roof by its own weight several times from the half open position and confirm the alignment.
    6. Using a hexagon wrench, tighten the roof panel link with the 2 screws.

      Torque: 41 N*m (418 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf)

    7. Close the roof by its own weight from the half open position.

    8. Measure the retract amount of the roof lock.
      1. Close the roof by its own weight from the half open position. Measure the distance A between the front header and roof panel at the point where the roof stops without locking.

        HINT:

        • Measure the retract amount without contact with the roof panel.
        • Mark the point at which the measurement was performed.

      2. Lock the roof and measure the distance B between the front header and roof panel.

        HINT:

        Measure at the same point as in the previous step.

        C (Retract amount of roof lock) = A - B

    9. Adjust the removable roof auxiliary catch assembly.
      1. Using a T30 "TORX" socket, adjust the removable roof auxiliary catch assembly to mark C within the specified value.

        Standard value: 

        C = 3.5 +-1 mm (0.14 +-0.04 in.) 

        If C is not as specified, adjust the catch by turning the adjusting screw. 

    10. Place SST and check that reference line B at the upper part of SST aligns approximately with the roof line.

      HINT:

      Depending on the vehicle condition, the roof line may not align with the SST reference line B.

    11. Check the installation condition.

      If necessary, repeat the adjustment.

    1. Attach the claw labeled A and claw labeled B to install the trim cover.
    2. Install the 4 clips.

  27. INSTALL DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL 
    1. Attach the 4 claws to install the bezel.
  28. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER SIDE LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the RH side.

  29. INSTALL NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the luggage compartment light and connect the connector.
    2. Attach the 2 claws to install the cover.

  30. INSTALL FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER 
    1. Install the front luggage compartment trim cover with the 4 clips.

    2. Install the 4 clips.

      HINT:

      Use the same procedures described for the other side.

    1. Attach the 2 claws to install the side plate.

  33. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER INNER LOWER 
    1. Install the trim cover with 6 clips.

  34. INSTALL TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the tonneau cover with the 2 covers and 2 nuts.

  35. INSTALL TONNEAU COVER STOPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Install the tonneau cover stopper with the 2 bolts.
    2. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, install the screw.
    3. Install the 2 covers.
    4. Install the guide rail stopper.

  37. INSTALL REAR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the trim cover with the 4 clips.

    1. Attach the 4 clips to install the finish plate.

  45. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  46. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
