System Description

  1. DESCRIPTION 

    The system sounds the horns and flashes the lights in order to deter vehicle tampering. This system detects tampering with the vehicle if: 1) vehicle is forcibly entered, 2) engine hood is forcibly opened, 3) doors are unlocked without the use of a key, or 4) the cable from the battery terminal is disconnected and then reconnected.

    The system has an active mode and passive mode. In the active mode, the system operates normally. In the passive mode, the system begins arming even if the doors are not locked. The intelligent tester can switch these modes. Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS  .

  2. COMPONENTS

    Security horn Sounds when attempted break-in or theft is detected
    Headlight Begins flashing when attempted break-in or theft is detected
    Taillight Begins flashing when attempted break-in or theft is detected
    Map light Begins flashing when attempted break-in or theft is detected
    Hazard warning light Begins flashing when attempted break-in or theft is detected
    Vehicle horn Sounds when attempted break-in or theft is detected
    Door courtesy light switch Detects door open status (open or closed)
    Door lock position switch Detects door lock status (locked or unlocked)
    Engine hood courtesy switch Detects engine hood open status (open or closed)
    Luggage courtesy switch Detects luggage compartment door open status (open or closed)
    Unlock warning switch Turns on when key is inserted into ignition key cylinder and turns off when no key is inserted into ignition key cylinder
  3. GENERAL OPERATION 

    The system has five states: disarming 1; disarming 2; arming preparation; arming; and alarm.

    1. In the disarmed 1 state, the theft deterrent system is not armed.
    2. In the disarmed 2 state, the theft deterrent system is not armed. This will be set from the arming preparation, arming and alarm states.
    3. In the arming preparation state, the theft deterrent system prepares for 30 seconds to change to the arming state.
    4. In the arming state, the theft deterrent system is armed.
    5. In the alarm state, the horns sound and the lights blink for 60 seconds. These are operated as listed below:

  4. OPERATION IN ACTIVE MODE 

    The system operates as listed below 

    OPERATION IN ACTIVE MODE

    • Engine hood is closed, luggage door is closed and doors are locked by key or wireless function
    • Engine hood is closed when all doors are locked and luggage door is closed
    • Luggage door is closed when all doors are locked and engine hood is closed
    Arming Preparation
    Disarming 2 Any of following conditions is met
    • Any door is unlocked
    • Any door is opened
    • Engine hood is opened
    • Luggage door is opened
    • Key is into ignition key cylinder
    • Battery terminals are reconnected
    • Ignition switch is turned ON
    Disarming 1
    Luggage door is closed Arming Preparation
    Arming Preparation Any of following conditions is met
    • Doors are unlocked by wireless function
    • Doors are unlocked by key
    • Any door is opened
    • Engine hood is opened
    • Luggage door is opened
    • Key is into ignition key cylinder
    • Battery terminals are reconnected
    • Ignition switch is turned ON
    Disarming 1
    Any of following conditions is met
    • Luggage door is opened by wireless function
    • Luggage door is opened by key
    Disarming 2
    30 seconds elapse after the following conditions are met
    • Doors are locked by wireless function
    • Doors are locked by key
    • Engine hood is closed
    • Luggage hood is closed
    Arming
    Arming
    • Any of following conditions is met
    • Doors are unlocked by wireless function
    • Doors are unlocked by key
    • Ignition switch is turned ON with key
    • Engine is idling for 10 seconds or more
    Disarming 1
    Any of following conditions is met
    • Luggage door is opened by wireless function
    • Luggage door is opened by key
    Disarming 2
    Any of following conditions is met
    • Any door is opened
    • Engine hood is opened
    • Luggage door is opened
    • Battery terminals are disconnected
    • Ignition switch is turned ON without key
    Alarm
    Alarm Any of following conditions is met
    • Doors are unlocked by wireless function
    • Doors are unlocked by key
    • Ignition switch is turned ON with key
    • Engine is idling for 10 seconds or more
    Disarming 1
    Any of following conditions is met
    • Luggage door is opened by wireless function
    • Luggage door is opened by key
    Disarming 2
    60 seconds elapse since alarm has begun Arming
  5. OPERATION IN PASSIVE MODE 

    The system operates as listed below 

    OPERATION IN PASSIVE MODE

    • Key is not into ignition key cylinder
    • Any door is opened

    • Doors are unlocked by wireless function

    • Battery terminals are reconnected
    • Ignition switch is turned ON
    Disarming 1
    All of doors, engine hood and luggage hood are closed Arming Preparation
    Arming Preparation Any of following conditions is met
    • Doors are unlocked by wireless function
    • Door are unlocked by key
    • Key is into ignition key cylinder
    • Battery terminals are reconnected
    • Ignition switch is turned ON
    Disarming 1
    Any of following conditions is met
    • Luggage hood is opened
    • Any door is opened
    • Engine hood is opened
    Disarming 2
    30 seconds elapse after following conditions are met
    • Doors are locked by wireless function
    • Doors are locked by key
    • Engine hood is closed
    • Luggage hood is closed
    Arming
    Arming Any of following conditions is met
    • Doors are unlocked by wireless function
    • Doors are unlocked by key
    • Ignition switch is turned ON with key
    • Engine is idling for 10 seconds or more
    Disarming 1
    Any of following conditions is met
    • Luggage door is opened by wireless function
    • Luggage door is opened by key
    Disarming 2
    Any of following conditions is met
    • Any door is opened for the entry delay time (0,14 or 30 seconds) that is selected by customizing function of intelligent tester
    • Engine hood is opened
    • Luggage door is opened
    • Battery terminals are disconnected
    • Ignition switch is turned ON without key
    Alarm
    Alarm Any of following conditions is met
    • Doors are unlocked by wireless function
    • Doors are unlocked by key
    • Ignition switch is turned ON with key
    • Engine is idling for 10 seconds or more
    Disarming 1
    Any of following conditions is met
    • Luggage door is opened by wireless function
    • Luggage door is opened by key
    Disarming 2
    60 seconds elapse since alarm has begun Arming
  6. FORCED DOOR LOCK FUNCTION 

    The system locks the doors if any door is unlocked during the arming state. This is operated when the system is in active mode.

  7. ALARM MEMORY FUNCTION 

    The system informs the user when the alarm has been activated. The system illuminates the taillights for 2 seconds when the alarm is canceled and the system is changed to the disarming 1 or 2 state. This function operates when the system is in active mode and passive mode.

  8. PANIC ALARM FUNCTION 

    The system operates the alarm when the PANIC (LOCK) button of the key is pressed.

    1. The panic alarm is operated when both of the following conditions are met:
      1. The ignition switch is OFF.
      2. The PANIC (LOCK) button of the key is pressed for 2.4 seconds or more.
    2. The panic alarm is canceled when one of the following conditions is met:
      1. The ignition switch is ON.
      2. The LOCK/UNLOCK/LUGGAGE button of the key is pressed.
      3. 60 seconds elapse since alarm has begun.
      4. Door is unlocked by key.
      5. Luggage door is opened by key.
  9. SECURITY INDICATOR 

    The security indicator illuminates or blinks to indicate the system status.
