Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER (TAILLIGHT) 
    1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to generate a control command, and then check that the taillight illuminates.

      Luggage room junction block ECU 

      ACTIVE TEST DETAIL - LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ECU

      Item Test Details Diagnostic Note
      TAILLIGHT Taillight ON / OFF -

      OK: Taillight illuminates. 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    NG: Go to Next step 

  2. INSPECT REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY (TAILLIGHT)

    1. Remove the rear combination light.
    2. Apply battery voltage to the rear combination light connector and check that the taillight illuminates.

      OK 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4
      Taillight illuminates

    NG: REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to Next step 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the 6L junction block connector.

    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      6L-1 (TAIL) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to Next step 

  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (LIGHT - ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the R6*1 or R7*2 light connector.

      HINT:

      *1: LH

      *2: RH

    2. Disconnect the L24 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance: 

      LH 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      R6-1 -L24-1 (TIL1) Below 1 Ω
      R6-4 - Body ground Below 1 Ω
      R6-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

      RH 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      R7-1 - L24-1 (TIL1) Below 1 Ω
      R7-4 - Body ground Below 1 Ω
      R7-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
