Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER (ROOM LIGHT) 
    1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to generate a control command, and then check that the room light illuminates.

      Passenger side junction block ECU 

      ACTIVE TEST DETAIL - PASSENGER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ECU

      Item Test Details Diagnostic Note
      F ROOM LIGHT Room light ON / OFF -

      OK: Room light illuminates. 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    NG: Go to Next step 

  2. CHECK STEP LIGHT 
    1. Check that the step light illuminates.

      OK: Step light illuminates. 

    NG: Go to step  9

    OK: Go to Next step 

  3. CHECK VANITY LIGHT 
    1. Check that the vanity light illuminates.

      OK: Vanity light illuminates. 

    NG: Go to step  11

    OK: Go to Next step 

  4. CHECK MAP LIGHT 
    1. Check that the map light illuminates.

      OK: Map light illuminates. 

    NG: Go to step  13

    OK: Go to Next step 

  5. CHECK IGNITION KEY CYLINDER LIGHT 
    1. Check that the ignition key cylinder light illuminates.

      OK: Ignition key cylinder light illuminates. 

    NG: Go to step  15

    OK: Go to Next step 

  6. CHECK SCUFF PLATE LIGHT 
    1. Check that the scuff plate light illuminates.

      OK: Scuff plate light illuminates. 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    NG: Go to Next step 

  7. INSPECT SCUFF PLATE LIGHT 
    1. Remove the scuff plate light.

    2. Apply battery voltage to the scuff light connector and check that the scuff plate light illuminates.

      OK 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1
      Scuff plate light illuminates

    NG: REPLACE SCUFF PLATE LIGHT 

    OK: Go to Next step 

  8. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SCUFF PANEL LIGHT - ECU AND BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the S11*1 or S12*2 light connector.

      HINT:

      *1: LH

      *2: RH

    2. Disconnect the P4 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard voltage: 

      LH 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      S11-2 - Body ground 10 to 14 V

      RH 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      S12-2 - Body ground 10 to 14 V
    4. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance: 

      LH 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      S11-1 - P4-9(ILE) Below 1 Ω
      S11-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

      RH 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      S12-1 - P4-9 (ILE) Below 1 Ω
      S12-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  9. INSPECT STEP LIGHT 
    1. Remove the step light.
    2. Apply battery voltage to the step light connector and check that the step light illuminates.

      OK 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1
      Step light illuminates

    NG: REPLACE STEP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to Next step 

  10. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEP LIGHT - ECU AND BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the F11*1 or F12*2 light connector.

      HINT:

      *1: LH

      *2: RH

    2. Disconnect the P4 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard voltage: 

      LH 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      F11 - 2 - Body ground 10 to 14 V

      RH 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      F12-2 - Body ground 10 to 14 V
    4. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance: 

      LH

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  11. INSPECT VANITY LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the vanity light.
    2. Apply battery voltage to the vanity light connector and check that the vanity light illuminates.

      OK 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SWITCH CONDITION

      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2
      ON Vanity light illuminates

    NG: REPLACE VANITY LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to Next step 

  12. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (VANITY LIGHT - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the V9*1 or V10*2 light connector.

      HINT:

      *1: LH

      *2: RH

    2. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard voltage: 

      LH 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      V9-2 - Body ground 10 to 14 V

      RH 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      V10-2 - Body ground 10 to 14 V

    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance: 

      LH 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      V9-1 - Body ground Below 1 Ω

      RH 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      V10-1 - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  13. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the map light.
    2. Apply battery voltage to the map light connector and check that the map light illuminates.

      OK 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SWITCH CONDITION

      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2 (E)
      Map Map light illuminates
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (B)
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 3 (CTY)
      Door Map light illuminates

    NG: REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to Next step 

  14. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAP LIGHT - ECU, BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the P12 light connector.
    2. Disconnect the P4 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      P12-1 (B) - Body ground 10 to 14 V
    4. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      P12-3 (CTY) - P4-9 (ILE) Below 1 Ω
      P12-2 (E) - Body ground Below 1 Ω
      P12-3 (CTY) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  15. INSPECT KEY CYLINDER LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the key cylinder light.
    2. Apply battery voltage to the key cylinder light connector and check that the key cylinder light illuminates.

      OK 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2
      Key cylinder light illuminates

    NG: REPLACE KEY CYLINDER LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to Next step 

  16. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (KEY CYLINDER LIGHT - ECU, BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the 117 light connector.
    2. Disconnect the P4 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      117-2 - Body ground 10 to 14 V
    4. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      117-1 - P4-9 (ILE) Below 1 Ω
      117-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
