Inspection Procedure

1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to generate a control command, and then check that the license plate light illuminates.

OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

NG: Go to Next step 

1. Remove the license plate light.
2. Apply battery voltage to the license plate light connector and check that the license plate light illuminates.

   OK 

   MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

   Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2 Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1	License plate light illuminates

NG: REPLACE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

OK: Go to Next step

1. Disconnect the L3 light connector.
2. Disconnect the L22 ECU connector.
3. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

   Standard voltage 

   VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION
   
   

   Tester Connection	Specified Condition
   L3-2 - Body ground	10 to 14 V

4. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

   Standard resistance 

   RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION
   
   

   Tester Connection	Specified Condition
   L3-1 - L22-10 (LCE1)	Below 1 Ω
   L3-1 - Body ground	10 kΩ or higher

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
