Inspection Procedure

  1. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (DOOR COURTESY SWITCH) 
    1. Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the door courtesy switch.

      Driver door ECU 

      DATA LIST - DRIVER DOOR ECU

      Item Measurement Item / Display (Range) Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      COURTSY SW Courtesy switch / ON or OFF ON: Door is open
      OFF: Door is closed
      -

      OK: ON (door is open) appears on the screen. 

      Passenger door ECU 

      DATA LIST - PASSENGER DOOR ECU

      Item Measurement Item / Display (Range) Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      COURTSY SW Courtesy switch / ON or OFF ON: Door is open
      OFF: Door is closed
      -

      OK: ON (door is open) appears on the screen. 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    NG: Go to Next step 

  2. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the courtesy light switch.
    2. Measure the resistance of the switch.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - Body ground Not pushed (ON) Below 1 Ω
      1 - Body ground Pushed (OFF) 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to Next step 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - SWITCH) 
    1. Check the wire harness between the driver door ECU and door courtesy light switch LH.
      1. Disconnect the D17 ECU connector.
      2. Disconnect the D8 switch connector.
      3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

        Standard resistance 

        RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

        Tester Connection Specified Condition
        D17-27 (CTY) 8-1 Below 1 Ω
        D17-27 (CTY) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    2. Check the wire harness between the passenger door ECU and door courtesy light switch RH.

      1. Disconnect the P9 ECU connector.
      2. Disconnect the D9 switch connector.
      3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

        Standard resistance 

        RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

        Tester Connection Specified Condition
        P9-27 (CTY) - D9-1 Below 1 Ω
        P9-27 (CTY) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
