Outer Rear View Mirror: Removal

HINT:

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME BRACKET GARNISH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the garnish.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  3. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the switch as shown in the illustration.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

  4. REMOVE CENTER SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (w/ Mark Levinson) 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Using a screwdriver, remove the speaker.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the bezel as shown in the illustration.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Using a screwdriver, remove the bezel as shown in the illustration.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the light and then disconnect the connector.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  8. REMOVE SEAT MEMORY SWITCH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the switch.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Disconnect the connector.
  9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUBASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 caps and 7 screws.
    2. Remove the 3 clips.
    3. Insert a screwdriver between the door and door trim to pry the trim.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the door and door trim.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    4. Pull the trim upward to remove it.
  10. REMOVE TWEETER SPEAKER 
    1. Disconnect the connector, and then remove the screw and speaker.

  11. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
    2. Remove the 3 bolts and mirror.
