On-Vehicle Inspection

  1. CHECK TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the combination switch and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE CONDITION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    1 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V
    Ignition switch ACC or OFF Below 1 V
    4 - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V

    Standard resistance 

    RESISTANCE CONDITION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    2 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3 - Body ground
    7 - Body ground
    5 - Body ground Turn signal switch LEFT
    Turn signal switch is RIGHT or OFF 10 kΩ or higher
    6 - Body ground Turn signal switch RIGHT Below 1 Ω
    Turn signal switch is LEFT or OFF 10 kΩ or higher
    8 - Body ground Hazard warning switch ON Below 1 Ω
    Hazard warning switch OFF 10 kΩ or higher

    If circuit is as specified, replace the relay. If circuit is not as specified, inspect the circuits connected to other parts.

  2. CHECK TOWING CONVERTER RELAY CIRCUIT 
    1. Remove the towing converter with connector still connected and inspect the wire harness side connector from the back side as shown in the table.

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE CONDITION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    4 - 6 Turn signal LEFT or hazard warning switch ON 10 to 14 V <-- --> Below 1 V
    Turn signal switch LEFT and stop light switch ON (brake pedal depressed)
    Turn signal switch OFF, hazard warning switch OFF and stop light switch OFF (brake pedal released) Below 1 V
    Stop light switch ON (brake pedal depressed) 10 to 14 V
    6 - 9 Turn signal LEFT or hazard warning switch ON 10 to 14 V <-- --> Below 1 V
    Turn signal switch OFF or RIGHT and hazard warning switch OFF Below 1 V
    2 - 6 Turn signal switch RIGHT or hazard warning switch ON 10 to 14 V <-- --> Below 1 V
    Turn signal switch RIGHT and stop light switch ON (brake pedal depressed)
    Turn signal switch OFF, and hazard warning switch OFF and stop light switch OFF (brake pedal released) Below 1 V
    Stop light switch ON (brake pedal depressed) 10 to 14 V <-- --> Below 1 V
    1 - 6 Always 10 to 14 V
    6 - 8 Stop light switch ON (brake pedal depressed)
    Stop light switch OFF (brake pedal released) Below 1 V
    3 - 6 Turn signal switch RIGHT or hazard warning switch ON 10 to 14 V
    Turn signal switch OFF or RIGHT and hazard warning switch OFF Below 1 V

    Standard resistance 

    RESISTANCE CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Connection
    6 - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    If the circuit is not as specified, inspect the circuit connected to other parts.

  3. CHECK LIGHT CONTROL SWITCH CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the C18 switch connector.
    2. Inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

      OK 

      CONTINUITY CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      C18-16 - Body ground Continuity
    3. Connect the wire harness side connector to the light control and dimmer switch.
    4. Inspect the connector from the back side, as shown.

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE CONDITION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    C18-13 - Body ground Light control switch TAIL or OFF 10 to 14 V
    C18-14 - Body ground Light control switch OFF
    C18-13 - Body ground Light control switch HEAD Below 1 V
    C18-14 - Body ground Light control switch

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect the wire harness.

  4. CHECK HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the C18 switch connector.
    2. Inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

      OK 

      CONTINUITY CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      C18-16 - Body ground Continuity
    3. Connect the wire harness side connector to the light control and dimmer switch.
    4. Inspect the connector from the back side, as shown.

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE CONDITION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    C18-8 - Body ground Headlight dimmer switch LOW or HIGH 10 to 14 V
    C18-13 - Body ground Light control switch HEAD and dimmer switch LOW and fog light switch ON
    C18-8 - Body ground Headlight dimmer switch FLASH Below 1 V
    C18-13 - Body ground Light control switch HEAD and dimmer switch LOW and fog light switch ON.

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect the wire harness.

  5. CHECK FOG LIGHT SWITCH CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the C18 switch connector.
    2. Inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

      OK 

      CONTINUITY CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      C18-10 - C18-17 Continuity
    3. Connect the wire harness side connector to the light control and dimmer switch.
    4. Inspect the connector from the back side, as shown.

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE CONDITION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    C18-10 - Body ground Light control switch HEAD and dimmer switch LOW and fog light switch ON 10 to 14 V
    C18-10 - Body ground Light control switch HEAD and dimmer switch HI or FLASH and fog light switch ON. Below 1 V

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect the wire harness.

  6. CHECK TURN SIGNAL SWITCH CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the C18 switch connector.
    2. Inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

      OK 

      CONTINUITY CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      C18-2 - Body ground Continuity

      If circuit is not as specified, inspect the wire harness.

    3. Connect the wire harness side connector to the light control and dimmer switch.
    4. Inspect the connector from the back side, as shown.

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE CONDITION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    C18-2 - Body ground Ignition switch ON and turn signal switch Left Below 1 V
    C18-1 - Body ground Ignition switch ON and turn signal switch Left 10 to 14 V -->
    Below 1 V -->
    C18-3 - Body ground Ignition switch ON and 10 to 14 V turn signal switch Left

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect the circuits connected to other parts.

  7. CHECK FRONT PERSONAL LIGHT CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the F12 light connector.
    2. Inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    F12-1 - Body ground 10 to 14 V

    OK 

    CONTINUITY CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    F12-2 - Body ground Continuity

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or wire harness.

  8. CHECK REAR PERSONAL LIGHT CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the F11 light connector.
    2. Inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    Standard continuity 

    CONTINUITY CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    F11-1 - Body ground Continuity

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or wire harness.

  9. CHECK VANITY LIGHT CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the vanity light connectors.
    2. Inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.
    CONTINUITY CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    1 - Body ground 10 to 14 V

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    2 - Body ground Continuity

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or wire harness.

  10. CHECK DOOR COURTESY SWITCH CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the door courtesy switch connectors.
    2. Inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    OK 

    CONTINUITY CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    1 - Body ground 10 to 14 V

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or wire harness.

  11. CHECK BACK DOOR COURTESY SWITCH LIGHT CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the block door courtesy light switch connectors.
    2. Inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    OK 

    CONTINUITY CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    1 - Body ground Continuity

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or wire harness.

  12. CHECK FOOT LIGHT CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the foot light connectors.
    2. Inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE CONDITION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    1 - Body ground Ignition switch ON and door open 10 to 14 V

    OK 

    CONTINUITY CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    2 - Body ground Continuity

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or wire harness.

  13. CHECK INSIDE DOOR HANDLE ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the inside door handle illumination connectors.
    2. Inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE CONDITION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    1 - Body ground Ignition switch ON and door open 10 to 14 V

    OK 

    CONTINUITY CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    2 - Body ground Continuity

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or wire harness.

  14. CHECK SIDE STEP LIGHT CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the side step light connectors.
    2. Inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE CONDITION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    1 - Body ground Ignition switch ON and door open 10 to 14 V

    OK 

    CONTINUITY CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    2 - Body ground Continuity

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or wire harness.

  15. CHECK OUTER FOOT LIGHT CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the outer foot light connectors.
    2. Inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE CONDITION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    1 - Body ground Ignition switch ON and door open 10 to 14 V

    OK 

    CONTINUITY CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    2 - Body ground Continuity

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or wire harness.

  16. CHECK CENTER CONSOLE STEP LIGHT CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the center console step light connector.
    2. Inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE CONDITION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    1 - Body ground Ignition switch ON and door open 10 to 14 V

    OK 

    CONTINUITY CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    2 - Body ground Continuity

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or wire harness.

  17. CHECK STOP LIGHT SWITCH CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the stop light switch connectors.
    2. Inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    2 - Body ground 10 to 14 V

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or wire harness.

  18. CHECK HI-MOUNTED STOP LIGHT CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect the hi-mount stop light connector.
    2. Inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    2 - Body ground Continuity

    If circuit is not as specified, inspect power source or wire harness.
