Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK VOLTAGE BETWEEN TERMINALS IG AND GND OF VGRS ECU CONNECTOR 
    1. Record and clear VGRS DTCs.
    2. Start the engine and measure the voltage between terminals V11-3 (IG) and V11-6 (GND) of the VGRS ECU.

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Result Proceed to
      9 to 16 V A
      Below 9 V B
      Above 16 V C

    B: CHECK OR REPAIR HARNESS AND ECU-IG1 FUSE 

    C: CHECK AND REPAIR CHARGING SYSTEM 

    A: Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK VGRS FOR DTC C1551/51 
    1. Is DTC C1551/51 present?
      NOTE: Fault may be intermittent. Check harness and connectors carefully and retest.

    YES: REPLACE VGRS ECU 

    NO: NO FAULT DETECTED
