Sliding Roof System: Initialization
- INITIALIZE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR NOTE: When the sliding roof glass is replaced or removed and installed, or the drive gear assembly is replaced, the sliding roof drive gear requires initialization (pulse sensor initial position setting), as the glass position cannot be determined, If initialization is not performed, the following functions do not operate: 1) AUTO slide open and close, 2) jam protection function, 3) key-off operation, 4) transmitter-linked open operation, 5) key-linked open / close operation, and 6) entry lock switch-linked close operation.
HINT:
When the cable is disconnected and reconnected to the negative (-) battery terminal or the drive gear connector is disconnected and reconnected, the sliding roof drive gear (pulse sensor initial position setting) initialization is not necessary.
- When the drive gear is replaced:
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- If the sliding roof is open, close it almost completely.
- Press and hold the TILT UP switch to perform the following operations until the sliding roof is fully closed: tilt up → approximately 1 second pause → tilt down → slide open → slide close.NOTE: Make sure not to release the switch during the initialization. If the switch is released, perform the initialization again.
- The initialization is completed.
- Check that the sliding roof operates normally by operating the AUTO slide open and close function.
HINT:
- If the sliding roof becomes misaligned, press the TILT UP switch so that the roof glass stops moving or starts moving in the reverse direction, and continue to hold the switch for another 10 seconds or more to erase the initial settings. Then perform the initialization again.
- If the jam protection function does not operate, perform the initialization again.
