Headlight Dimmer Switch: Inspection

  1. INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check the light control switch.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance 

        LIGHT CONTROL SWITCH

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        13{T)-11 (H)-12{A)-19 (EL) Light control switch OFF 10 kΩ or higher
        13 (T) -19 (EL) Light control switch TAIL Below 1 Ω
        13 (T)-11 (H)-19 (EL) Light control switch HEAD Below 1 Ω
        12 (A) -19 (EL) Light control switch AUTO Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch.

    2. Check the headlight dimmer switch.

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance 

        HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        14 (HF)-19 (EL) Headlight dimmer switch FLASH Below 1 Ω
        15 (HL)-19 (EL) Headlight dimmer switch LOW BEAM Below 1 Ω
        20 (HU)-19 (EL) Headlight dimmer switch HI BEAM Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch.

        HINT:

        Perform the "LOW BEAM" and "HI BEAM" inspection with the light control switch on "HEAD".

    3. Check the turn signal switch.

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance 

        TURN SIGNAL SWITCH

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        17 (CR)-16 (TR)-19 (EL) Turn signal switch right turn Below 1 Ω
        16 (TR)-19 (EL) Turn signal switch right lane change Below 1 Ω
        17 (CR)-16 (TR)-18 (TL)-19 (EL) Turn signal switch neutral 10 kΩ or higher
        18 (TL) -19 (EL) Turn signal switch left lane change Below 1 Ω.
        17 (CR)-18 (TL)-19 (EL) Turn signal switch left turn Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer switch.

    4. Check fog light switch.

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance 

        FOG LIGHT SWITCH

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        7 (BFOG) - 8 (LFOG) Front fog light switch OFF 10 kΩ or higher
        7 (BFOG) - 8 (LFOG) Front fog light switch ON Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front fog light switch.

    5. Check rear fog light switch.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance 

        REAR FOG LIGHT SWITCH

        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        9 (B) - 7 (BFOG) - 8 (LFOG) Rear fog light switch OFF 10 kΩ or higher
        9 (B) - 7 (BFOG) - 8 (LFOG) Rear fog light switch ON Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the rear fog light switch.
