Instrument Panel Safety Pad: Installation

HINT:

A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (see SPECIFIED TORQUE FOR STANDARD BOLTS ).

  1. INSTALL NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY 
    1. Attach the 5 claws to install the 5 stays.

  2. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the 5 claws to install the safety pad.
    2. Install the 5 bolts and nut.
    3. Install the 2 passenger airbag bolts.

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

    4. Connect the connectors and clamps.

    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Attach the 4 claws to install the register.

  16. INSTALL RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET  (See INSTALLATION )

  17. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector and clamp, and install the compartment door.
    2. Install the 5 screws.

    1. Attach the 5 clips to install the moulding.

    4. Attach the claw to install the cover.

    3. Install the under cover with the 2 screws.

    1. Install the cover.
  39. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE END PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Attach the 5 clips and 2 claws to install the end panel.

    1. Connect the connector.

    1. Attach the 4 claws to install the No. 3 panel.

    1. Install the shift lever knob and twist it in the direction indicated by the arrow.

  46. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE: Reset the AUTO TILT AWAY function setting to the previous condition by changing the customize parameter (see CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS ).
  47. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  48. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
    NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  49. SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the SRS warning light (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).
