On-Vehicle Inspection
- REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
- REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) (See Step 4 in REMOVAL )
- REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) (See Step 5 in REMOVAL )
- REMOVE FRONT DISC (See Step 5 in DISASSEMBLY )
- INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB BEARING FOR LOOSENESS
- Using a dial indicator, check for looseness near the center of the axle hub.
Maximum:
0.05 mm (0.0020 in.)
NOTE: Ensure that the dial indicator is perpendicular to the measurement surface.If looseness exceeds the maximum, replace the front axle hub.
- INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB FOR RUNOUT
- Using a dial indicator, check for runout on the surface of the axle hub outside the hub bolt.
Maximum:
0.05 mm (0.0020 in.)
NOTE: Ensure that the dial indicator is set perpendicular to the measurement surface.If runout exceeds the maximum, replace the front axle hub.
- INSTALL FRONT DISC (See REASSEMBLY )
- INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) (See Step 7 in INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) (See Step 8 in INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf)
