Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER 
    1. Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the intelligent tester main switch on.
    4. Select the item below in the ACTIVE TEST and then check that the indicator operates.

    MAIN BODY (Main body ECU RH): 

    ITEM REFERENCE TABLE

    Item Test Details Diagnostic Note
    SECURITY INDIC Security indicator ON/OFF -

    OK: 

    The security indicator light turns on or off correctly when operating it through the intelligent tester. 

    NG: Go to step   2 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  2. INSPECT SECURITY INDICATOR 
    1. with navigation system: Check the security indicator.
      1. Remove the multi-display.
      2. Apply battery voltage to the terminals of the multidisplay and check the lighting condition of the security indicator.

      Standard 

      SECURITY INDICATOR SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) --> Terminal J50- 19 (SEUC)
      Battery negative (-) --> Terminal J50- 10 (GND1)
      Lights up
      NOTE:
      • If the positive (+) lead and the negative (-) lead are incorrectly connected, the security indicator will not light up.
      • Voltage of more than 12 V will damage the security indicator.
      • If the voltage is too low, the security indicator will not light up.
    2. without navigation system: Check the security indicator.
      1. Remove the center cluster integration switch.
      2. Apply battery voltage to the terminals of the center cluster integration switch and check the lighting condition of the security indicator.

        Standard 

        CENTER CLUSTER INTEGRATION SWITCH SPECIFIED CONDITION

        Measurement Condition Specified Condition
        Battery positive (+) --> Terminal J54-9 (SEUC)
        Battery negative (-) --> Terminal J54-8 (E)
        Lights up
        NOTE:
        • If the positive (+) lead and the negative (-) lead are incorrectly connected, the security indicator will not light up.
        • Voltage of more than 12 V will damage the security indicator.
        • If the voltage is too low, the security indicator will not light up.

    Result

    A: REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY ASSEMBLY 

    B: REPLACE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL 

    C: Go To Next Step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU RH - MULTI-DISPLAY OR INTEGRATION CONTROL) 
    1. with navigation system: Check the wire harness between the ECU and multi-display.
      1. Disconnect the J74 ECU connector and J50 multidisplay connector.
      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLE  .

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLE

      Symbol (Tester Connection) Specified Condition
      IND (J74-24) - SEUC (J50-19) Below 1 ohms
      IND (J74-24) - Body ground 10 k ohms or higher
    2. without navigation system: Check the wire harness between the ECU and integration switch.
      1. Disconnect the J74 ECU connector and J54 panel connector.
      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLE  .

    Standard resistance

    IND (J74-24) - SEUC (J54-9) Below 1 ohms
    IND (J74-24) - Body ground 10 k ohms or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go To Next Step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-DISPLAY OR INTEGRATION CONTROL PANEL - BODY GROUND) 
    1. with navigation system: Check the wire harness between the multi-display and the body ground.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLE  .

      Standard resistance

      GND1 (J50-10) - Body ground Below 1 ohms
    2. without navigation system: Check the wire harness between the integration switch and the body ground.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION TABLE  .

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU RH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH)
