Outside Moulding: Removal
HINT:
- On the RH side, use the same procedures as on the LH side.
- REMOVE FRONT WHEEL LH
- REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE STEP SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
- REMOVE FRONT FENDER MOULDING OUTSIDE FRONT LH
- Using a heat light, heat the moulding between 40 and 60°C (104 and 140°F)NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
- Using a knife, cut the double-sided tape.NOTE:
- If reusing the moulding, take care not to damage the moulding.
- Do not damage the body.
- Remove the 8 screws.
- Disengage the 13 clips and remove the moulding.

NOTE: If the clips are damaged, exchange them for mew clips. - Using a heat light, heat the moulding between 40 and 60°C (104 and 140°F)
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR MOULDING OUTSIDE LH
- Using a heat light, heat the moulding between 40 and 60°C (104 and 140°F)NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
- Using a knife, cut the double-sided tape.NOTE:
- If reusing the moulding, take care not to damage the moulding.
- Do not damage the body.
- Disengage the 12 clips and remove the moulding.NOTE: If the clips are damaged, exchange them for new ones.
- Using a heat light, heat the moulding between 40 and 60°C (104 and 140°F)
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR MOULDING OUTSIDE LOWER LH
- Remove the 5 screws.
- Disengage the moulding.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR MOULDING OUTSIDE LH
- Using a drill of less than ø 4 mm (0.16 in.), gently and perpendicularly place the drill tip onto the rivet and cut the rivet flanges.
HINT:
Wind tape around the drill blade so that the drill blade appears approx. 5.0 mm (0.20 in.) on the edge.
NOTE:- Be sure to gently place the drill perpendicular to the rivet, otherwise the rivet hole and the drill itself will be damaged.
- Be careful when performing this task, as the cut rivet is hot.
- Even if the flange is taken off, continue drilling and push out the remaining fragment with the drill.
- Using a heat light, heat the moulding between 40 and 60°C (104 and 140°F)NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
- Using a knife, cut the double-sided tape.NOTE:
- If reusing the moulding, take care not to damage the moulding.
- Do not damage the body.
- Remove the 10 clips and the moulding.NOTE: If the clips are damaged, exchange them for new ones.
- Using a drill of less than ø 4 mm (0.16 in.), gently and perpendicularly place the drill tip onto the rivet and cut the rivet flanges.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING LOWER LH
- Remove the 4 screws.
- Disengage the moulding.
- REMOVE QUARTER OPENING RETAINER LH
- Remove the 3 screws and retainer.
- REMOVE REAR BUMPER COVER

- REMOVE QUARTER PANEL MUDGUARD REAR LH
- Remove the 2 screws, and mudguard.
- REMOVE REAR WHEEL
- REMOVE QUARTER MOULDING OUTSIDE NO. 4
- Remove the clip, and rear bumper side support LH.
- Using a heat light, heat the moulding between 40 and 60°C (104 and 140°F).NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
- Using a knife, cut the double-sided tape.NOTE:
- If reusing the moulding, take care not to damage the moulding.
- Do not damage the body.
- Remove the screw, 8 clips and moulding.NOTE: If the clips are damaged, exchange them for new ones.
