Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch ON (IG).
    3. Clear the DTC.
    4. Check for DTC.

      HINT:

      When DTCs other than U0126 are output, inspect and repair the trouble areas indicated by those DTCs first.

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE CHART

      Result Proceed to
      DTC U0126 is not output A
      DTC U0126 is output B

    B:  GO TO ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM

    A: GO TO Next Step 

  2. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR BRANCH WIRE) 
    1. Disconnect the K19 steering angle sensor connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K19-10 (CANH) - K19-9 (CANL) Power switch OFF 54 to 69 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR (CANH, CANL) 

    OK: GO TO Next Step 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the K19 steering angle sensor connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      K19-2 (ESS) - Body ground Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K19-1 (IG) Body ground Power switch ON (IG) 10 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR
