Charging (3UZ-FE): Generator: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM COVER SIDE RH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET 
    1. Remove the bolt and inlet.
  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  6. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and cover.
  7. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  8. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  9. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the generator connector.
    2. Remove the bolt and bracket.
    3. Detach the rubber cap, and then remove the nut and battery cable.

    4. Remove the bolt and ground cable.
    5. Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and generator.
