Lumbar Support Adjuster Assembly: Installation

HINT:

  1. INSTALL LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the lumbar support adjuster with the 2 screws.
    2. Connect the connector.
  2. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD 
    1. Install the seatback cover (with pad) to the seat frame.
    2. Install the 2 headrest supports.
    3. Fully cover the airbag with the 2 seatback cover brackets and tighten the nut.

      Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf) 

      CAUTION:
      • For vehicles with side airbags, the seatback cover must be securely installed. Otherwise, the side airbags may not deploy properly.
      • Make sure that the strap is not twisted after installing the bracket.
      • Install the bracket securely.
    4. Using hog ring pliers, install the seatback cover (with pad) to the seat adjuster with new hog rings, and attach the hooks.
    5. Install the 2 headrest supports.

    6. Install the front seatback cover inner and outer with the 4 bolts.
  3. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the 2 claws and install the seatback board with the 2 screws.
  4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the 2 claws and install the cushion shield.
    2. Install the 5 screws.
    3. Connect the 2 rubber bands of the front seatback board to the seat frame.

  5. INSTALL RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB 
  6. INSTALL SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB 
  7. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  8. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Place the seat in the cabin.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
    2. Connect the connector under the seat.
    3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    4. Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the foremost position.
    5. Tighten the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seat.

      Torque: 36.8 N*m (375 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf) 

      HINT:

      Tighten the 2 bolts in the order indicated in the illustration.

    6. Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the rearmost position.
    7. Tighten the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seat.

      Torque: 36.8 N*m (375 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf) 

      HINT:

      Tighten the 2 bolts in the order indicated in the illustration.

  9. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Move the seat using the power seat switch knob so that the seat belt anchor bolt is revealed.

    2. Install the front seat outer belt anchor with the bolt.

      Torque: 42 N*m (428 kgf*cm, 31 in.*lbf) 

    3. Install the seat belt anchor cover cap.
  10. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 

    Perform initialization, (see INITIALIZATION )

    NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  11. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 

    Check the SRS warning light, (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM )

  12. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check the power seat operation.
    2. Check the seat heater operation (with seat heater).
      1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
      2. Turn the seat heater switch ON.
      3. Wait 5 minutes or more and confirm that the seat surface becomes warm.
