Lumbar Support Adjuster Assembly: Installation
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the LH and RH side.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart, (see SPECIFIED TORQUE FOR STANDARD BOLTS )
- INSTALL LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY
- Install the lumbar support adjuster with the 2 screws.
- Connect the connector.
- INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD
- Install the seatback cover (with pad) to the seat frame.
- Install the 2 headrest supports.
- Fully cover the airbag with the 2 seatback cover brackets and tighten the nut.
Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf)
CAUTION:- For vehicles with side airbags, the seatback cover must be securely installed. Otherwise, the side airbags may not deploy properly.
- Make sure that the strap is not twisted after installing the bracket.
- Install the bracket securely.
- Using hog ring pliers, install the seatback cover (with pad) to the seat adjuster with new hog rings, and attach the hooks.
- Install the 2 headrest supports.
- Install the front seatback cover inner and outer with the 4 bolts.
- INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Attach the 2 claws and install the seatback board with the 2 screws.
- INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD ASSEMBLY
- Attach the 2 claws and install the cushion shield.
- Install the 5 screws.
- Connect the 2 rubber bands of the front seatback board to the seat frame.
- INSTALL RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB
- INSTALL SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB
- INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY
- Place the seat in the cabin.NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
- Connect the connector under the seat.
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the foremost position.
- Tighten the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seat.
Torque: 36.8 N*m (375 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf)
HINT:
Tighten the 2 bolts in the order indicated in the illustration.
- Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the rearmost position.
- Tighten the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seat.
Torque: 36.8 N*m (375 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf)
HINT:
Tighten the 2 bolts in the order indicated in the illustration.
- Place the seat in the cabin.
- INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY
- Move the seat using the power seat switch knob so that the seat belt anchor bolt is revealed.
- Install the front seat outer belt anchor with the bolt.
Torque: 42 N*m (428 kgf*cm, 31 in.*lbf)
- Install the seat belt anchor cover cap.
- PERFORM INITIALIZATION
Perform initialization, (see INITIALIZATION )
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. - CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
Check the SRS warning light, (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM )
- INSPECT FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY
- Check the power seat operation.
- Check the seat heater operation (with seat heater).
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the seat heater switch ON.
- Wait 5 minutes or more and confirm that the seat surface becomes warm.
